Yesterday we also had the virtual Christmas party of the Innovation & Best Delivery Hub in Frankfurt. We baked Bethmännchen together, drank Christmas beer, Riesling and Glühwein, ate raw-milk cheese, baguette and roasted almonds, played and listened to handmade music. It was so wonderful, it exceeded my high expectations by far. Thanks to all.

Yesterday was the last day at the FBC.
The move out marks the end of an era in Frankfurt. This is where Pünder, Volhard & Weber ultimately became Clifford Chance in Germany. We moved in over 36 years ago, on 1 April 1983; at that time only on the 30th floor. After the merger in 2000, we occupied almost half of the building. I was at FBC for the first time in 1996. The very first time, I had the pleasure of meeting Rüdiger Volhard. I have had offices on the 23rd, 24th, 26th, 30th, 31st, 32nd and 34th floors over the years.

Weeks #22 to #24: Time flies, we still have so much to do. For DAC6, we have introduced an interim process just in time and selected in parallel a tool that has been configured and trained over the last few weeks and will soon go live. Many thanks, Olaf Scholz.
Weeks #19 to #21: I had 9.5 holidays within 15 working days. Holidays are always too short, but this time much too short and much too often interrupted. In between we had three family birthday parties, the first personal meeting with external parties (which was really strange after twelve weeks working from home and six weeks in the office without any personal external contact) and a trip to the Tegernsee, the Oberallgäu and to Austria in the Bregenzerwald and the Kleinwalsertal.

I haven’t been there every day, but most. Some colleagues are there every day, some are still working from home. Especially those with young children.
„Working from home (13)“ weiterlesenWeek #14: Because of the Corona virus pandemic, I survived the fourteenth week of working from home. One day off due to child #1 18th birthday and one day in the office to sign at least 35 documents. So only the last three days in the last week, where I was working from home officially. From next week on we are supposed to be regular BackToTheOffice.
As long as the colleagues do not belong or live with someone in the risk group, or have to look after their children, or there is not enough distance where they work. The firm was and is very generous here: Health is paramount.
„Working from home (12)“ weiterlesenWeek #12 and #13: These two weeks felt like one: Two public holidays, two sick days, one holiday. Being sick with a cough feels weird in the present circumstances. My doctor told me she hasn’t tested positive for COVID yet. The restrictions a.k.a. lockdown obviously worked well.
