Lob des Lobes

Mein junger Freund Lukas schreibt seit Jahren ins Internet und versendet neuerdings einen Newsletter, den ich jedem ans Herz legen kann.

Ich versuche ja auch mich viel mehr auf das Gute und Schöne zu konzentrieren. Er hilft mir dabei. Ich freue mich jedes Mal, wenn sein Newsletter kommt und lese ihn nicht gleich sondern setze mich mit einem Espresso aufs Sofa und lese ihn genüsslich, wie man eine gute Praline zum Kaffee isst.

Das was er über positives Feedback, Lob, Wertschätzung sagt, das versuche ich mein ganzes Leben lang schon. Viele können damit nicht umgehen, aber da mein Leben ja ziemlich konstant ist und ich immer und überall lange mit den selben Menschen interagiere wird es bei den meisten immer besser. Manche können damit nie umgehen, interessanter Weise sind das i.d.R. diejenigen, die auch über die Zeit immer weniger Lob verdienen.

Aber:

Die meisten Menschen sind die meiste Zeit über toll und verdienen es, dass auch gesagt zu bekommen. 

Und dann gibt es diejenigen, die meinen man müsse mehr Millei, Musk oder Merz wagen.

What I’ve learned during the Corona Crisis (3)

We will work differently together in our local, regional, and global teams (which are virtual most of the time anyway), with our internal and external clients. Business travel will stay reduced dramatically even when it will be possible and safe again. Our everyday work culture has changed, because we are no longer bumping into colleagues by chance on the corridor, the tea kitchen, or the canteen. At the moment, we spend a lot of time in communicating on every channel, sometimes it feels like over-communication. And I think it is not as good as bumping into each other.

What I’ve learned during the Corona Crisis (2)

I am a very privileged person and I am very grateful for that. The main reason for this is my background. Herkunft. In particular, the place where I was born. Wired.

Loosening the restrictions does not mean that the pandemic is over. They just mean that there’s a place for you in the ICU right now.

Having a real Büro in our house was pure luxury in the past. Now it is the main reason why we can work as good as in the office.

What I’ve learned during the Corona Crisis

Don’t let the water run while washing your hands. It is a total waste and you wash your hands more properly.

My children can cook really well. They really like it. But they will never learn how to do the dishes without moaning. 

Secretaries can work from home. Associates can work from home. Busines Professionals can work from home. Not that I ever doubted it, but now we have the proof.

For video-conferencing 9+1 participants is the maximum number for coffee talks and 4+1 is the maximum number  for real work.

Germans will never learn how to queue properly.
