Working from home (6)
Week #7: I survived the seventh week of working from home because of the Corona virus pandemic. I always complain here how bad I am, how exhausting it is, and what can go wrong. This is high-level whining.

Week #6: I survived the sixth week of working from home because of the Corona virus pandemic. The work volume and intensity remain high. It seems to me that we communicate much more than if we were not working from home. To the list of communication tools this week we add the good old GoToMeeting, BlueJeans (InterCall) and StarLeaf (never heard of before). If my kids were smaller they would think I was a phone/video operator.

Week #5: I survived the fifth week of working from home because of the corona-virus pandemic. Working? Well, first were the Easter holidays, then I had the rest of the week off at home. As planned we did a culinary tour of Italy, with Prosecco, Vitello Tonato, Pizza, Carpaccio, Spaghetti, Seafood Salad, Gnocchi, Lugana, grilled Scampi, Gorgonzola, Espresso, Limoncello and many other delicacies.

Week #4: I survived the fourth week of working from home due to the corona-virus pandemic. But it was never so close. Queuing Wednesday evening in front of the supermarket, waiting with 1.5 m distance to the others willing to buy. I didn’t move, but he drove hard into me with his shopping trolley. Germans will never learn how to queue properly.

Week #3: I survived the second and third week of working from home due to the corona-virus pandemic. Even better, my children survived as well. I always thought, that we have enough computers, enough bandwidth and enough rooms, desks and chairs for my wife, the three children and myself. Since they started to send work packages for home-schooling over their online service (which luckily enough existed since ages), chat, send done work back and so on I realised that we could be better equiped. After Netflix (since ages) and Apple TV+ (since February for 12 free months) we added Disney+ (since Tuesday for six free months) which caused bandwidth issues immediately in the afternoon.

Week #1: I survived the first week of working from home due to the corona-virus pandemic. I am used to working in global virtual teams. Now it is much more intense and exhausting than I had thought.
