Week #11: I was back in the office full days on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday due to child care the other days. So no pure working from home. It felt a bit strange being back in the office but familiar same time.
The weather was good enough to ride to the office. The route is beautiful, most of the time on a cycle path in the meadows of the Main. Because my bike was in service I had to use the mountain bike of child #2. The saddle was a challenge, but it’s a real nice bicycle. The ratio in the highest gear is much shorter than in my old bike. Boy, did I have to pedal downriver? Upstream and against the wind, the short gear ratio was no problem.
Appraisals take place (actively and passively) this week via video conference. That went better than expected, but it is not as personal as doing it in person. A statement of mine was completely misunderstood, this would not have happened eye to eye.
We had our 22nd wedding day this week and we went out first time since the restrictions began. Our favorite Italian restaurant had opened their garden. Besides the capo wearing a mask, and no tablecloth or fabric napkins it was nice and luscious as regularly.
School was very chaotic. They sent out different messages to the pupils and the parents about starting times. As a result, virtually all age groups met in the schoolyard instead of avoiding each other. Four school hours twice a week is actually nothing. It is very difficult to motivate the children to do anything at all. But they still cook a delicious lunch. And the washing up is now done without complaining.
