Working from home (8)

Week #9: Because of the Corona virus pandemic, I survived the ninth week of working from home. We did our first online lecture for EBS Law School students on Monday. With breakout-workshops, video, polls, and chatting. It felt strange to do that while working from home, but it went pretty smooth, interactive, and in the end successful.

We have virtual coffee breaks in our teams. Not every day, not at a fixed time, not at a specific participant list. If someone needs sociability, they invite their colleagues to take a break together. And each time we accidentally discuss work-related matters and someone learns something that will help them get ahead.

Today I spent the first half day in the office. In Germany we are allowed to come back to the office on a voluntary basis. 25 % per floor, per room, per practice is the maximum for the time being. In later phases it will be 50 and 75 %. A maximum of 2 people are allowed in the elevator. We are recommended to wear masks in the corridors or in the tea kitchen. That also felt strange.

From Monday, the children will go back to school, Every other day, staggered, so that there will not be so many at once. The classes are practically halved, maximum 15 pupils. Let’s see if that makes it easier or more complicated for us.
