Working from home (3)

Week #4: I survived the fourth week of working from home due to the corona-virus pandemic. But it was never so close. Queuing Wednesday evening in front of the supermarket, waiting with 1.5 m distance to the others willing to buy. I didn’t move, but he drove hard into me with his shopping trolley. Germans will never learn how to queue properly.

The children have school holidays now and do… nothing. And the next day too, because they haven’t finished yet. And when one of these kids actually cooks pasta with ready-made sauce for lunch, they want to be celebrated for that. After all, one or more children made lunch every day, and there was real, good food, too.

This week I participated in an average of 6.5 hours of audio/screen share/video conferences. I’ve seen more private details and how they live from my British colleagues in the last few weeks than in the 20+ years of our collaboration. Lots of sweaters and T-shirts, few shirts, no ties. I like that. Women on video calls have good styled hair always. Men…not.

Now we are going on holiday until the end of next week. Via South Tyrol, Venice to Lake Como. Unfortunately only culinary and vinological. But better than nothing.

Happy Easter to you all.
