Working from home (2)

Week #3: I survived the second and third week of working from home due to the corona-virus pandemic. Even better, my children survived as well. I always thought, that we have enough computers, enough bandwidth and enough rooms, desks and chairs for my wife, the three children and myself. Since they started to send work packages for home-schooling over their online service (which luckily enough existed since ages), chat, send done work back and so on I realised that we could be better equiped. After Netflix (since ages) and Apple TV+ (since February for 12 free months) we added Disney+ (since Tuesday for six free months) which caused bandwidth issues immediately in the afternoon.

If you have children and you don’t freak out all the time, then you are already practising Buddhism (Judith Holofernes).

From a work perspective it was even more demanding. Besides business as usual I still helped some colleagues on home office IT issues, hosted audio/screen share/video conferences between 2 and 100+ participants with numerous platforms – most went well but one, guess which – and worked on our eSignatures delivery projects.
